The ALTE 51st Meeting and Conference will be hosted by the Romanian Language Testing Consortium (Babes-Bolyai University and the Romanian Cultural Institute) and will take place from 11th to 13th April 2018. The conference will include workshops, plenaries and a gala dinner.

The first two days of the meetings are open only to ALTE Members and Institutional affiliates. On Friday 13th April will be an open conference day for all those with an interest in language testing. The theme of the conference will be:

"Multilingualism and using language for specific purposes – the role of assessment"

LSP learning and assessment have been around for more than 50 years. But as the world changes at such a fast pace, so do the stakeholders’ exigencies and requirements. How does this reflect in the historical evolution of the domain and which are the predictions and provocations for the future? What test design tools keep up with the new and unpredictable challenges? How does LSP currently materialize in the academic, employment and migration fields? These are the dimensions which will structure the 51st ALTE conference, addressing the various challenges of a multilingual global environment.
